We are supporting a dedicated team of animal rescue volunteers from Happy Furry Friends (Shchaslyvi Volohati) NGO in Fastiv, Ukraine, who work tirelessly to rescue and care for animals affected by the war, as well as abandoned and homeless dogs and cats.
The Fastiv team provides vulnerable animals with food, temporary shelter and veterinary care, including treatment and sterilisation, while working to find them safe and loving new homes. With available shelter space at capacity, volunteers often take rescued animals into their own homes and depend on donations to continue their vital work.
Between January and May 2026, the team sterilised 181 animals, took 166 dogs and cats into the shelter, found new homes for 222 animals, and transferred 19 animals to other carers.
Through this project, UAID International is raising funds and providing essential support to the Fastiv animal rescue team, helping them meet the immediate and ongoing needs of animals in their care. Support includes dry and wet food for dogs and cats, specialist food for puppies and kittens, veterinary treatment, medicines, sterilisation and other essential supplies.
