"Divine Radiance"
Dimentions: 60 X 40 cm
Artist: Liubomyr Martyniuk
Flowers are truly Liubomyr’s most favorite subject. For a long while Lybomyr used to visit Kyiv’s Central Botanical Gardens for en plein air. He was so fascinated by plein airs that the director of the botanic garden noticed it and offered him a workshop in one of the buildings on the grounds of the botanical garden. He thoroughly studied each flower and then a whole series of works dedicated to the botanical garden began to emerge. Most of them were flowers.
Since 2014, Liubomyr actively participates in charity auctions and exhibitions. Although he has a large family (he is a father of seven) and they live very modestly, he always responds to requests to help other people. Even before the war, he helped many struggling artists.
“When you are surrounded by horror, you understand the true value of every day. You want to help the destitute and broken, when you yourself have nothing but prayer, inspiration and the desire to go to every fellow countryman with great love and faith in success. Since the full scale war when I take paints in my hands, it is no longer I who paint, but all my people: children and elderly parents are paining with me. And in that moment the palette of your soul becomes mesmerising, as if you are not creating a painting, but a new world, and God helps you in all of this.”
