Dancing Sunflowers
From Natasha Salkey STILL WE BLOOM Collection.
I love this piece. It brings a smile to my face.
I designed them to be worn as a pair but also to be worn with a Black Onyx Sunflower stud. Personally, I love mismatched earrings but you can decide what works best for you.
Black Onyx is often referred to as the "Stone of Willpower" or a "protective" stone, used to enhance self-control and resilience and serves as a protective talisman.
As with most of the pieces in this collection, these earrings are executed in oxidised silver, in line with Ukrainian tradition. Particularly within the context of historical, artisanal jewelry.
While bright silver and gold have historically signified wealth, oxidised or darkened silver (often referred to as antique finish) is used to highlight intricate, traditional patterns and to evoke a sense of ancient history.
A pair of stud earrings in the shape of Sunflowers with Sunflower seeds at the bottom. The Sunflowers are set with Black Onyx and framed with the gold plated petals. Sunflowers had been executed with antique finish. The earring posts had been gold plated too.
The Sunflower consists of three parts which creates a gentle movement or as I like to call it, a dance.
The leaves of Sunflowers were designed to resemble a heart. Leaves are engraved to add more character and realism.
